Kid’s Day at the Farm
Saturday, August 14th
10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
$6 cost per child - all ages welcome
The folks at Jack Creek Farms will be offering a series of guided mini interactive workshops for children to participate in various farm activities and old time skills. Children will have the opportunity to:
- Churn Butter
- Plant Sunflowers
- Press Cider
- Make a Corn husk Doll
- Make a Gourd Ornament
- Grind Wheat Berries into Flour
- Pet Farm Animals
- Play on a Haystack
- Rope a Dummy Steer
- Play in a Hay Maze
- Pump Water the Old-fashioned Way
- Wash Clothes in a Tub using a Washboard
A pre-paid wrist band will allow your child to participate in all of the workshops. Children will get to bring home a finished corn husk doll, a sunflower seed planted in a paper cup, a mini gourd ornament, a small bag of wheat and memories to last a lifetime! Old-Fashioned Threshing Bee

Come help us celebrate our Ag heritage. Observe vintage tractors and farm equipment harvest wheat the way it was done nearly 100 years ago. There will be live music by the Pineridge Bluegrass Gospel Band, blacksmithing demonstrations by Legacy Forge and smoked spare ribs by Chris’s Smokehouse. Early Day Gas Engine Show
Sunday September 5th
1 p.m. – 4 p.m. FREE Admission!
Vintage tractors and farm equipment will be on display as well as an early day gas engine show. You will get to see in action early gas engines as they chug gurgle and pop. Many of them will be performing simple tasks. If you haven't heard a working vintage engine, you are in for a treat. They have a charming cadence and a memorable sound. A fun experience for kids . . . a chance to refresh memories for us older folks.There will be free apple cider and honey tasting, a hay maze and hay stack for the kids, farm animals, and smoked spare ribs by Chris’s Smokehouse. Heirloom Tomato Tasting

Join us for an afternoon of fun as we sample the many different varieties of heirloom tomatoes grown on our farm. Additionally we will be sampling olive oil, walnut oil, spices, infused vinegars, and goat's milk cheese from several local farms. Admission is FREE. 2nd Annual Scarecrow Contest
September 16th thru October 16th
Jack Creek Farms invites you to participate in our 2nd annual Scarecrow Contest. Last year we had a fantastic turnout with some of the most creative scarecrows on the entire Central Coast! We are adding new categories, with a special division for young people under age 14. The contest is open to all ages. There is no entry fee to participate.
